Entertainment Marketing
The Entertainment industry is one that has taken full advantage of the internet as an effective marketing tool.
Now, almost three decades on from the internets first inception, the world wide web has become a mandatory entertainment sourcing tool.
Having been involved with the internet since it's infancy, Splash (which is older than Google!) had the good fortune to observe the web evolve, to the point that there is now a whole generation of people whom would not know life without it.
Despite this, there are still people of my own generation whom have not ventured into the full workings of cyberland, and as a result, miss out on a huge chunk of modern life.
Internet Marketing is how we use the web to market products and services upon the web. It combines the essence of traditional marketing mediums such as sales promotion, graphic design, creative writing, advertising, relationship marketing, loyalty marketing, direct marketing with internet technology, web design and email.
Internet Marketing can also be used to fully integrate other marketing operations within an entertainment business, such as online bookings, inventory updates, schedules, ticketing, seating, transportation, distribution, freight, and financial management.
These days, there is no need to re-invent the wheel, and there is probably a turn-key module or program that already does exactly what we need for any entertainment initiative.
Today everybody can book cinema tickets, theatre tickets, car rentals, motel accommodation and airline tickets on-line utilising instantaneous ecommerce.
Like it or not, this is the way 70% of entertainment seekers are now sourcing their immediate and long term fun! Splash can guide you on the best way to use the internet to bring entertainment seekers to your concept.

Sponsorship Gathering - Advice From Experience
If you are planning an event, then you probably need sponsors to make it happen!
You can't imagine the number of events we have witnessed that managed to gain generous gifts from corporate well wishers, but ended up completely trashing their sponsors, and wondered why they could never raise the support a second time.
In the interest of the Entertainment Industry, and for all the "undiscovered promoters" reading this page, the next few paragraphs will provide essential advice for raising sponsorship for your next event.
Why Do The Big Boys Sponsor Events & Entertainment?
Well believe it or not, the Big Boys, i.e. companies like Banks, Insurance Companies, Car & Truck Manufacturers etc, don't supply sponsorship funding because they have a good heart - even if they do!
These Corporate Sponsors part with their big bucks, because they know that a great event is likely to be promoted to thousands, if not millions of people, and can be an excellent way to gain extremely cheap advertising, or brand awareness for their products and services.
In the marketing world this is known as "cause marketing" (or stealth marketing) and there are specialists in the game. The next time you watch a televised footy match, see how the sponsors are emblazened across the field - where else could you gain 50 minutes of defined subliminal viewing from such a vast audience?
If you want the Big Sponsors for your event, you must make a committment to take your sponsors name and logo - for a ride on every flyer, radio commercial, tv advertisement, poster, banner and internet website, professionally, from the very start to the very finish.
Before you approach your big or little sponsors, put together a plan of your event (e.g. a too-the-point, 5 minutes max power point presentation) that includes visuals, fact a figures.
-
How many people will attend the event?
-
How many people/organisations will the event be marketed to and how often? (Reach)
-
What will be the costs of promoting your Event professionally?
-
What exposure will they gain through TV Radio, Internet and Newspapers
-
Over what period will the exposure remain
Remember! Not Less Than 20% of a flyer, poster and all other media should be reserved for the logos of your sponsors - if you do this, and the figures stack up, your sponsors will support any event that you may conduct now and in the future!
